I,M JUST INSTALLING THE PATCH 1.21 FOR CIV III ptw
,the game worked well with the old patch of 1.14f ....but now I cannot play with the new patch .......just when the game start a popup it is displayed advize me that I have a error initializing the font (code error 28)......how can I solucioned this.
I have window me installing

Ok I had the same trouble with win98 first edition.
The solution for me was pressing CTRL+ALT+SUPPR and ask to kill em_exec task related to logitech mouse software.

I have the same trouble,although I thought the problem was that I downloaded the original patch from the official web page but I didn't read it was incopatible with other non US versions
So if anyone can tll me if I download the english version from Apolyton will I need a crack for it (to work without a CD)?

Neda,
If i well understand, you got an error code 28 by applying a US PTW 1.21 patch to a non US version.
Why not using the patch dedicated to your version ?
Each version of PTW have to receive its dedicated patch and they are incompatible beetween them.

Neda,
i got the same trouble with French patch. Have you a logitech mouse ? In this case try my upper tip in this thread, and perhaps try to kill more hidden tasks running in windows.

I've now even tried reinstalling the whole game and the situation is different:The computer can't find the IFC23.DLL file!?
What shall I do!???

hi ,
uninstall , look manually for files like ptw , infogrames , civilozation , firaxis , etc , .......
delete those , reboot , reinstall , get patch , before you do this check windows update for direct - X 9 and so , ...
make sure all other programs are closed while you do this and make sure all hard and software security is off (!)
that really ought to do it

Ok Neda, please give us more information
What OS are you using ?
Do you have a separate partition for your OS and you civIII/PTW installation ?
What task are running in windows when you have your problem ?

I've tried everything Panag sad,and nothing is working.
And Vortex I'm sorry but I didn't understand your last post (what's an OS ?)
But the task part I got.I have AVX pro runing (that's been causing me some trouble with the games earlier but I just shut it down before I enter the games and problem solwed)
If it would help my civ III is not an original one as well as the PTW e.p. so the trouble may be in the crack files (especialy the patch crack)

OS means windows , nt , 98 , xp , etc , .... linux , mac os X , etc , ....

Neda,
if you haven't an original copy of CIV III nor PTW :
1) I can't help you because we have probably not exactly the same files on each installation
2) I won't help you because I 'm not used to support piracy

I have a win98,pentium4 with 1.8GB,nVidia G-force 4,80 GB on hard,524 RAM memory

I'm sorry you feel that way because if you were in the situation that I'm in you'd think much more diferently.
1)I have a ****ingly monthly alowence of 8.3 euros
2)averige pay in my contry is 200 euros per month
3)the content of our files is almost the same because I have everything exept I need crack files to run it properly like it is an original (I think that has bugging me)
4)I can't find the right crack anywhere on the internet (I'm not sure but I'm guessing that mine is not good).The crack that I have I got from my pal from the internet cafee
Any more questions,especially you Vortex?
P.S.My father couldn't buy me the computer so I had to pay half of the price myself.I've got the money from my 5 year savings

OS means operating system , ..... 
why dont you wait till you see ptw at a low price , .....
sorry to hear that you make a low amount , but no-one is going to help you with what you do , ......
piracy kills the game and the fun for all the people who do pay for it , .....
