What exactly is the loophole in the RP contract?

What am I going to tell GS when all the *****ing starts? I am not concerned with the fact we are at war, but of the contract with RP. GS understands conquest is a part of the game, but not breaking contracts.

what about the original reason we're attacking Roleplay, the way they treated us about the IIRC writing trade when our scouts were there.

I remember them boasing about it in the ISDG forum and I was thinking little do you know buddies

I concur that that is the real reason why we negotiated with ND so very long ago.

The question is ..
Do we want the public know that we have had such a long relationship with ND.

I suggest not.

Both GS & Lego may see ND & GoW countering each other... a continent to take over at a later time.

It may be best to promote that it was a more recent alliance.

I suggest that we do need to make an announcement (Throw in a bit of GF roleplay for good fun), but one of the lessons learnt from GS is;

Don’t try to legitimise your reasons.
We do not need to explain ourselves. And anything said by any member, will be picked apart by maggot lawyers and turned around against us.

I suggest we make an announcement, and no member respond to any outrage or other team interference until a joint response can be drafted.


Excuses for the war...
ND said it was either us or RP ... we had no choice.
RP holds the most land on bob, and has the potential to be the most powerful.
RP holds the most resources
We want RP iron.
RP treated us poorly during the early stages of the game

Who says we tell anyone about ND? Let them think ND is simply taking an opportunistic stance and grabbing as much RP as they can.

I'd go with the honest one. They were there, which translates into excuse #2 above. But all will see it for what it must be, a power play. The best idea is just to be honest, afterall this is a game where conquest is a good way to win. If they are mad at us just tell them to look at our name, GLORY OF WAR, not GLORY OF PEACE,LOVE,DOPE. All we are saying is give war a chance. We must be honest basically, though lets let them think Nd was recent thing. Afterall Unortho did say he wanted to change out name to Death to Role Play, we actually told them. I bet they will take our ramblings seriously from now on.

I'm glad this thread got started because I've been pondering over the exact excuse we should give the world. I am currently writing something up and will post it tonight or tomorrow.

Bascially the premise is:

1) Last minute opportunity. We saw a chance and we took it. Nothing was planned waaaay back, just a few weeks before we were still pondering about our situation.

2) We decided to take an active role in our destiny. We were not going to wait until we were attacked. It was them or us.

3) Past histories have influcenced our decision. RP treated us bad at the start whereas we never recieved the same kind of animosity from ND despite our waryness towards them

4) as aggie so plainly put it, WE ARE THE GLORY OF ****ING WAR and it's a bout damn time we started one!

and as for the loophole,

we only have a MPP with RP, it says nothing about US not declaring war on THEM. the moment we declare war on RP the contract is void and ND has a free hand at attacking them.

What's with all this PC bullshit, the best part of the GS Vox war was the propaganda. There's lots of good reasons we attack RP.

GhengisFarb's Top Ten Reasons to Kick the Role out of Roleplay.

10) They don't shower and stink up the whole continent.

9) The whole "we claim this entire half of the continent and you have to share the smaller half with the other two northern civs" fiasco.

8) They publicly chastised us for intimidating Vox to back off Bob, when they did the EXACT same thing to us, ND, and Lux.

7) They are hogging 75% of the entire world's supply of luxuries.

6) We're "Agents of Chaos" and this Spanish Inquistion crap seems a tad to orderly.

5) There's a least one lawyer on their team, need we say more?

4) ND can offer us German Beer, Roleplay can offer us squid, no contest.

3) They promised military support to Lux and Vox and left both hanging high and dry.

2) They weasel, lie, manipulate, and plot against all civs and are pure evil incarnate. My bad, I see I already covered the lawyer bit.

AND FINALLY GHENGISFARB's NUMBER ONE REASON TO WIPE OUT ROLEPLAY....

1) Almost every member of the Sunshine Team is on the Roleplay team and I want to kick some Hippie-Nazi a$$.

(Alternate #1 for those who don't share my hatred of the Sunshine Team: "We ain't called the GLORY OF WAR for nothing.")

The one thing GS did wrong with their war against Vox, was that they tried to legitimised everything they did.

eg..
Don’t sell them iron because its not fair ... blah blah blah

I think our reasons should be as GF has put it... without reason, and completely in fun. If we raise serious arguments, the maggot lawyers will shoot us down.

We will be flamed. I will guarantee that.
Lego & GS will want the balance of power to remain the same on Bob. They will offer verbal, financial and possibly military help to RP.

We simply do not respond to their criticism, unless it is completely fun.... ie #10 They don't shower and stink up the whole continent.

So... My choice on Master Zens list is #4 .. We did it, because it is our nature to do it.


Re “The Agents of Chaos" ... I desperately want to use this in my sig ...But my concern is that it will give away our tight relationship with ND. RP will squeal that ND was sharing private correspondence and we must be in a long-term alliance. Let’s not give them this information. Don’t let them think (although we never confirm or deny it) that our RP war with ND is nothing more than just a one-off.

The agents of Chaos is sooner or later going into my sig. It was in a PM from MrWIA to ND. I doubt HE would remember it, let alone Togas.

I agree we should not respond to anything serious. Only make light of the entire affair, if anything we should respond:

THIS IS CIV!!! WAR IS A PART OF THE GAME, WE ARE ONLY PLAYING! They have resources we dont, lux that we dont, and land that we want, we feel we can take it, now let's play the game.
