	Poly link to spam Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I've been getting a lot of spam lately linked to words that I've only used here at poly. Has anyone else noticed something similar?

Whenever I give my e-mail address to sites asking for one I always provide the first name "The site name" surname "Isresponsibleforthisspam".

Very effective at finding who is responsible for whoring your address out.

If you haven't posted in newsgroups, subscribed to dodgy newsletters, posted it all over your homepage, registered at questionable websites, or replied to/tried to unsubscribe from earlier spam, it is.

(Almost) anything posted on Apolyton, the forums for example, can be picked up by search engines using spidering software depending upon its level of sophistication. As such, it can also be gathered by spammers.

In my assessment at least, spamming is an unfortunate but 'real' part of being a netizen to one degree or another.

I'm aware that this happens, but it became clear the other day that poly was targetted after starting a Hilary thread. Now I get about 2-3 spam emails a day to my home email address mentioning Hilary. It could have been a coincidence so I was wondering if anyone else had noticed it, whether this activity had increased at poly lately, and whether it contributed to the server slowdown.

Yes Panag, I'm up to date on security, use a good firewall, and dont have any spyware on my PC's.
