	Windows 2000 SP4 rolls out Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

The 4th service pack for the Windows 2000 family was just released within the last hour and was also just reported by several tech news websites. According to CNET SP4 "apparently has about 675 bug fixes." I already did download it, but haven't yet encountered any problems. Some improvements to mention are USB 2.0 and wireless networking support like in Win XP.

Considering 10.3 HASN'T BEEN RELEASED YET, and that they are claiming there is NO performance difference between X and 10.1, when there CLEARLY is, I'm going to go right ahead and ignore those results... Honest to god, this is ridiculous.

2) I was mocking Apple (fake benchmarks) and Cloud9/Agathon from the other thread with my arguments

And you're right, it was a ridiculous argument. Which is why it's so fun to use to mock them!

A little question. I have Win2K RC2 (not installed, but on disc). Would any of the SP's work on that, and would that be a decent enough alternative for my aging Win98 (disregarding any illegal alternatives)?

But then, I thought it said it only worked 200 days (not sure how that works), and re-installing Windows every 6-7 months isn't really my thing.

Most probably not. The RC versions are after all RC versions and e.g. the Whistler beta version of Win XP has ceased to be updatable and it has also expired. So basically installing a release candidate version of Windows 2000 is waste of time and effort. I suggest buying Windows 2000 Pro from your local software retailer and then installing SP4. All currently sold copies of Windows 2000 have SP3 included.

Longhorn is a major overhaul of Windows due in 2005.

It's NT 6.0. It'll have a database-based filesystem (Windows Future Storage, WFS), completely 3D-card based graphics engine (uses video card RAM, DX9-style GPU to do everything so it looks better, runs faster, and uses less system RAM), etc.
