Hm, a better question: 'do you play mods' ? Rules.txt of scenarios are usually better balanced that the original one.

i hear the civil war scenario is pretty good.....

almost was suckered into playing that one, by someone who enjoyed it.....

Premade maps are not my favorites. You never know who's looked at them. The discovery aspect of CIV is one of things that help keep it fresh.

kibitzing the screens and how poeple open gave me insight...it also allowed me to see why you guys take so long sometimes

War4 and Berz were visiting Ming and I, and we had 3 computer's set up in Ming's gaming room. The person that wasn't playing would sit behind one of the other players, or move from player to player. It was quite educational.

I have an idea! A new one after 4 years and 5 months.
Kibitzing is possible on the net too: Take the starting position, go to cheat mode, take purple civ and give him a city that cannot be developped by the AI. Everybody who wants to kibitz can join as purple, save a game, disconnect and reveal the map in cheat mode.
(The adjustment of the starting map could be done automately by a program)

Why go through all of that? If someone wants to kibitz, just save the game and send him the file. We've done this a few times before.

Yeah, I was sent a few files once and was shocked at what I saw. But it's tough when you see the file to not just scream at the person. "all you have to do is.........."
Sometimes it's so obvious but some are oblivious.

some people get pinned by barbs, or can't get to sea, etc...there are a ton of reasons, of course if somenoe loses the second set i will cut them more slack...

but i know a few players who if they lose their second set are remarkably competitive
