As for how I became a Mod... MarkG noticed that I had volunteered to run the Civ III Stories competition.. then he asked me to be the Civ III Stories Directory editor... then I got access to the staff room... then I asked to be able to top threads in the Civ III stories section so that I wouldn't have to bother him... and that's how I gained my powers

DarkCloud's situation also happened to me. I initially became CtP-MP forum mod, because I needed to manage some threads there. I got an ehancement to my abilities quite later.

However... it's pretty unlikely for a person that asks to become a mod to become one, so I'm not sure you will .

This topic comes up every now and then.

Modding can be quite time consuming, especially if you're on one of the more active forums. But it is a good oportunity to give back to the community for all the things it has provided to us.
