...and the premier episode was awful. Nothing like when it was on Nickelodeon. It wasn't funny gross like it used to be...it was unfunny nasty gross and overly crude.

THIS garbage is was what its creator had envisioned all along?

So is the new TNN series reruns of the old ones or actually a new series? If it is a new one, I guess there is a possiblity that it might not be as good.

It's a brand new series: Ren & Stimpy's Adult Party Cartoon. And it's godawful. TNN shows reruns of the old Ren & Stimpy an hour after the new series.

I find it strange that TNN is now called the men's network.

I think they may be changing their name as well.

At least they have the balls to say they are a men's network. Although men have plenty other networks like ESPN, ESPN2, Fox sports, Fox sports2, CNBC, CSPan 1 and 2, Playboy Channel, TBS, Fox, FX, History channel

History channel! They just need to break down and rename it what it really is... the War Channel. More specifically, the "WWII with other wars occasionally thrown in there" channel...

any way, when i was kid R&S was awesome! one of my first episodes was the "space madness' one, and I ROFLMAO all night ... I've seen some reruns more recently, but i dunno if its cause im grown up or what, but they were terrible. just gross, and the humor had aged terriblely.

TNN was going to change their name to Spike TV. But Spike Lee sued them because he said it would "try to make unauthorized use of his namesake" or some dumb crap like that - and he won an injunction so they couldn't change their name when they planned to. Like he's the only person ever named "Spike" (which isn't even his real name).

Ren and Stimpy really freaked me out one time. I had fallen asleep on a friends couch with the TV on. I woke up around 4 in the morning to a giant sperm whale singing "Mama's little baby loves shortnin' shortnin' Mama's little baby loves shortnin' bread!" Scared the hell out of me until I woke up enough to realize what it was.

Last I heard, the estate of Spike Jones was filling a lawsuit against Spike Lee, claiming it was "disturbing" he was attempting to control the use of the word "spike".

Jones isn't filing a new lawsuit, but filed an interpleader motion, meaning that he is intervening in the current lawsuit, because a decision could cause him harm. So he's basically a third party to the suit.

Well there is a reason it wasn't. Apparently the IDIOTS at TNN had a memo floating around saying something like 'Spike TV' would be a good idea because of Spike Lee. Totally moronic move. It may not cost them the trial, but it was a boneheaded move.

Um... any judge with half a brain would also realize that this isn't a lawsuit about who has a claim on the word 'Spike' as well .

This suit is whether TNN is trying to use Spike Lee's persona to make money. Since there is a memo floating around TNN which says this may be the case, he has a valid suit, IMO.

You'll notice he never sued Spike Jones or anyone else... indicating that he (or his lawyers) doesn't really think that he a claim on 'spike'.

If he can prove that they were banking on people attributing 'Spike TV' with 'Spike Lee' and thus making money off of him, he might have something.

I don't think he'll win, but he does have some evidence that needs to be looked at.
