I started a MP game with La Fayette (also a SP player ) and I have some questions:
I thought that a city don't see the non-workable corner (2 steps by a warrior diagonally from the city). But it looks it does. Are there any exceptions?
Fortifying seems to be instant, is it real?
After saving a game, it is possible to see number of cities&units of opponents. Do you try not to see it?
I think there could be following rule: Do not see cities&units stats; report if these stats were noticed by error (so that others can do it too)
Do you check 'near a city XXX' message in city window when exploring? (I would like to consider it a cheat, but it is almost impossible not to notice it).
Do you try to equalize starting positions? For example if one side has two settlers and the second only one?

1. unescorted dips/spies
2. Yes it's real. But only if you use the fortify key. Doing it in the city screen isn't the same..
3. It doesn't show you the city count or unit count when you quit, but when you start a continued session, you do. It's hard not to notice since you must check which civ you are. You can load the map as a scen, and look at it but that's considered a but people sometimes do it on games that will not be continued.
4. Yes hard to ignore, and it is used quite a bit. Not illegal in RAH rules..
5. When you play deity, everyone starts with two
settlers. If the host has techs we restart. If someone starts on the artic or on a tiny island, we restart, And sometimes if your land is bad enough, we will grant a restart.

I ran a test (in SP mode):
visibility of a city:
2 space - units with attack>0
1 space - units with attack=0
So dips are hidden not only in corners.
Manual - you never know if you can trust it.

Yeah, many moons ago there were threads dedicated to errors in the manual. |
Can't you find it? It would be a good acquisition to GL.
