Hi, I purchased a copy of RON for my son. I tested it on a Toshiba Laptop PentiumIV 1.7GHz 256MB RAM at least 32MB RAM video. The game worked ok. I installed it on our home computer PentiumIII 600MHz 128MB RAM 32MB Video ASUS 3800 AGP card. The readme text suggests the game might not run properly with this card and that we should d/l the most current drivers for this card, which I believe I have done Ver 6.31. The intial startup screen Rise of Nations loads and then when it tries to load the game this msg comes up.
Nations This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor. The other thing that sometimes happens is it seems as though the game is running but has minimized on the task bar. I went to microsoft site which gave fix soultions. I had partial success when I reduced the sound acceleration level to basic. The intro videos played and the game loaded but then gave the blue screen (exception fault error). Does anybody have any suggestions that can resolve this problem.

I have a SBPCI and have tested the sound using dxdiag and is ok. According to the ASUS web site as of last week I have the most current drivers for the video card. D/L directx9.0a last night. Will try installing and see if that helps at all.
