Ted Kennedy's son admits: Democrats make more sense when drunk! Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dy...-2003Jun26.html

Also he is quite thrilled at the fact that he's never worked a day in his life:

quote:
As sometimes happens with Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.), he let his mouth race ahead of his brain Wednesday night at a gathering of Young Democrats at the Washington nightspot Acropolis. After presidential candidate Howard Dean spoke, Kennedy delivered an impassioned peroration against President Bush's tax cut. We hear that Kennedy told the crowd: "I don't need Bush's tax cut. I have never worked a [bleeping] day in my life." With that he got the audience's attention -- the dropping-jaws kind. "He droned on and on, frequently mentioning how much better the candidates would sound the more we drank," a witness told us. "Finally, he had to be stopped by a DNC volunteer." Kennedy's spokesman, Ernesto Anguilla, told us yesterday: "He was talking to the crowd; it was a rally-the-troops kind of speech about the tax cut. He was energizing the crowd and got caught up in it and used an unfortunate word, which he regrets using. . . . And no one pulled him off the stage."

Open mouth, insert foot, close mouth, swallow.

I notice that in your wall of shame, you have Ming listed as worse than the Nazi's, but better than Sharon. That's gonna piss off a few of our Mediterranean brethren...

Oh, wow, i care so deeply about this crucial, world shaking speech, that shall be remembered throught the ages, as the appox of Man's ingenuity and ...blah, blah, blah.

maybe it can be best appreciated when drunk?

It wasn't the DNC, it was his spokesman trying to spin things as best as he could. One of the ways to do this is to "misunderstand" the controversy so that the "admitted" gaffe, while still a gaffe, takes precedence over the bigger problem.

In this case, the PR guy is drawing attention to the swear word hoping that will detract people from noticing:

a. That his boss basically gloated about being a trust fund baby

and

b. That his boss admitted that Democrats make more sense when drunk

That's gotta be a pretty thankless task, if you ask me.

Eh, the guy is a congressman, and therefore is still fair game. If he'd just been another Kennedy who kills or rapes women, nobody would care.

The clan is still allowed to own and operate a couple of Congressional districts.

Everyone knows they're trust fund punks, at least the main descendants, and everyone knows they get elected because of the name. Everyone also knows the current generation is a complete bunch of lightweights.

The only Kennedy the national Dems. can even remember is Teddy, and maybe Ahnold's wife, Maria. Beyond them, no one really cares.

Well, you know how a trapped animal will sometimes gnaw it's leg off if caught in a trap. That's about how you would feel the next morning trying to get away before she wakes up.

At least that is what i've been told.

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

The Kennedies made one last power play recently, trying to turn Maryland into a new Massachustes like base for them. They ran two candidates who were descendents of the Kennedy line in the 2002 election: Mark Shriver for Congress, and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend for Governor. Mark Shriver lost in the Democratic primary to a no-name candidate. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend lost to the Republican candidate for governor, marking the first time since Spiro Agnew in 1966(I think it was 1966, it was some time in the 1960's), that Maryland elected a Republican governor.

A proud election for Maryland

Ehrlich's done nothing but **** the state. And I don't think it was a Kennedy powerplay, given that Townsend had been the Deputy Governor (or whatever the position's called) to Glendening. I think I really screwed up spelling that name. Eh...
