Pamplona:

After looking at the 210 BC save, I'm gonna slow growth gradually over the next five turns instead of all at once. Unfortunately, Salamanca overextended by using the forest tile last turn. I don't think it can grow before it builds the worker now, and it surely won't need to use the forest tile in such a case.

So, if Señor Dejon agrees, please set the new WFs for Pamplona according to the table below and switch Salamanca off the forest tile to what Señor Dejon decides would be best.

code:
#2, shielded grassland #3, Gold Mountain #6, forest - new #7, cattle bonus #8, cattle bonus

We'll get to utilize Gold mountain a while longer and the Granary will come before size 6 does.

Incidentally, slave priorities around Pamplona in the near future (as far as I can tell) are to have Gold Mountain mined and roaded and also have a river grassland tile irrigated and roaded. I will also request this in the the proper thread.

Thanks.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Move a unit out of Valencia to protect the workers on the western shore of the river. We still have barbarian potential in the south.

Worker Actions Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Updated worker actions

Here we go. Worker actions SHOULD be fairly simple this turn if I've calculated everything correctly:

Note: Directions indicated by numberpad keys

Valencia - Workers at 1, irrigate that square.
Bilboa - Move worker 4, onto jungle tile towards Toledo
Vigo - Workers on Mountain 1-1 from Vigo, mine that tile.
Merida - Workers @ 9. Irrigate tile.
Zaragoza - Workers @ 3-3, build road.

As far as worker actions go, that should be it...

Military orders :
==============================
---------------------------------------
Northeast
---------------------------------------
Watch Rider (NW of Bilbao)
-move N, N
Replacement for warrior - this unit can retreat from this position more quickly if needed.

Bulgar Warriors
-move SE
Moving to hill on coast (NE, NE, NE of Bilbao)

Jungle Patrol (in Bilbao)
-rename to Bilbao Guard
-fortify

Bilbao Guard (in Toledo)
-rename to Jungle Watch
-move N
This unit will move to the mountain N, NE of Toledo and fortify.

new Med. Inf. (in Toledo)
-rename Bashing Maul 1
-move S, S, SE
This unit will be among the first of a new eastern/coastal defense group. Heading to spot S, S of New Madrid.

---------------------------------------
West and North
---------------------------------------
Valencia Bounty Hunter
-rename to Lisboa Guard
-move SW
Advance garrison to hold city spot and watch galley movement off coast.

Last Cutting Edge
-move S (into Leon)
This unit will garrison Leon for awhile. The next pikeman available from Zaragoza will go garrison Salamanca, so that it's spear can return for an upgrade. Once the spear makes it to Zaragoza for upgrade, one of the Zaragoza Guards can transfer to Leon, and the upgraded spear can remain in Zaragoza.

Leon Guard (in Leon)
-rename Merida Guard
-move S, SE, SE
Garrison unit for new city - Merida.

---------------------------------------
East Coast
---------------------------------------
Madrid Maul (in New Madrid)
-rename to Bashing Maul 2
-move S
Going to Valencia to assist with garrison and/or protecting workers. Afterwards will occupy spot N, N of Valencia as part of new eastern/coastal defense group.

Barcelona Edge (in New Madrid)
-rename to Bashing Maul 3
-move S
Moving to spot S, S of New Madrid, as part of new eastern/coastal defense group.

Barcelona Garrison (in New Madrid)
-rename to Barcelona Guard
-move S
Returning to Barcelona. If barbarians should threaten Valencia, this unit could be sent to assist, while a unit from the defense group (Med. Inf.) garrisons Barcelona.

Madrid Guard (in Barcelona)
-rename to Valencia Guard
-move W, W, S
Yes, we are leaving Barcelona empty for one turn. There is little risk, as no GoW/GS galleys are down this far, and there is currently no warnings of barbs nearby. A garrison unit will arrive next turn. This pikeman is needed asap in Valencia and to protect the workers. Both the spear and sword down there are due for upgrades, so they must head to New Madrid soon, not prolong their obsolescence by protecting workers.

Valencia Guard (spear)
-move N, N, N
Heading for upgrade in New Madrid. Spear goes before Sword because a replacement pikeman is already on the way. Sword should head for upgrade in the next 1-3 turns, depending on barbarian activity.

---------------------------------------
Naval
---------------------------------------
Santa Maria
-move S, S, E? (navigate around GS coast & galleys as best we can)

Guardia Observatoria
-move E (unload from Nina)

Nina
-move W, NW, E
Exploring coast (uncovering ocean tiles where possible). Slowing heading to future site of Lisboa.

Pinta
-move E, E, N
Turning around now to go patrol coastline and harry any GoW, GS galleys.
==============================

City Governor orders :
==============================
---------------------------------------
Leon
---------------------------------------
Check if moving WF #4 to #7 will speed settler without too much waste.

---------------------------------------
Salamanca
---------------------------------------
WF to #3
==============================

I'm away from the 2nd (tomorrow) to the 6th (Sunday). The extra explanations in the military orders should provide guidance for next couple of turns. The top priorities right now are to complete unit upgrades and continue building new defense groups.

The Valencia and Salamanca upgrades come first. Moving GuObs and the Pinta into the area should minimize the chance of barbs disrupting the workers heading from Valencia. Avoid using an old unit to cover the workers. Use the coming pikeman and leave Valencia empty if necessary, and cover with coming Med. Inf. - just get those old units up north for upgrades.

Next pikeman from Zaragoza goes to Salamanca. One after that will take over for the Maul on the jungle mountain, allowing that Maul to go initiate the western defense group, S, SW of Vigo, which will be between Vigo and Lisboa. The Iron Maul will also join the western defense group once another pikeman is built to take over for it.

For those curious, my not-too-distant plans include creating defense groups between Toledo/Bilbao and Valencia/Murica.

Have fun!

Results

GS offers Furs and Incense. I offer Silks and Gems and ACCEPT. AT THIS TIME we do not have a spare silk, so I am offering OUR silk, however, we will have our extra silk roaded by the end of next turn or the turn after. WORST CASE SCENERIO: We are up only 1 luxury due to this deal for @1 turn. Best case, we go to 6 Our people don't need the extra lux yet anyhow, but they will love us for it.

Legoland GIVES us Theology and Republic.

Vox and GS are now in a state of Peace.

GoW is still working on the Great Library.

We are told that we are technologically advanced

Research changed to Printing Press. Still at 0. Will be adjusted next turn after Republic.

No Barbarian warnings.

Mil Strength = Weak to GS, Ave to ND & Lego, Strong to GoW & Vox.

At the end of the turn we GO INTO ANARCHY!! BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR CITIES NEXT TURN

military:
Watch Rider N, N
Bulger SE
Bashing Maul 1 S, S, SE
Bashing Maul 2 S
Bashing Maul 3 S
Bilbao Guard UPGRADE (did not move due to upgrade, will be moved next turn)
Barcelona Guard UPGRADE (cannot move this turn due to upgrade, will be moved next turn)
Lisboa Guard SW
Merida Guard S, SE, SE
Last Cutting Edge S, FORT
Valencia Guard (in BCN) W, W, S (leaving BCN empty this turn)
Valencia Guard (spearman in Valencia) N, N, N
GuOb E (unloaded from Nina before it moved)

Settler 2 (& guard) S
Settler 3 (& guard) S, S, S

Nina W, NW, E
Pinta E, E, N
Santa Maria S, S, E

workers:
Godking finishes Mine.
Aidun begins ROAD (forgot to change name! Sorry, please remind me again after he's done)
Dejon Group (3) IRRIGATE
King's Group (2) IRRIGATE
Small Fry W
Ruby Group (3) MINE

cities:
Toledo finishes Med Inf. Starts on Settler. Toledo has grown to size 6.

Pamplona WF to 2-3-6-7-8. Growth in 4, Granary in 3.
Leon WF switch from 4 to 7 should happen Next Turn. Next turn there will be only 10 shields missing in the settler build box. Leon makes 4spt. Switching WF next turn will net 5spt and give us settler in 3 turns AND maintain maximum growth and trade.

Salamanca WF to 3. Worker in 4, growth in 5 (??? How did we mess this one up?)

Merida changed to Temple. WF on 2.

Screenshots taken PRIOR to anarchy, they will not likely be useful information as next turn we will be in Republic but in the mean time we will lose out on some of our production.
