I don't care what other people think... when I classify people, or go by classifications... I rely on the USSC.

Damn straight.

Heartfelt, catchy, meaningful, and sufficiently angsty/solem.

The only problem is their popularity, it's uncool to like a band that's loved by tens of millions. Oh well.

Plus you gotta love a guy who was homeless for a few years, recorded an album in a week with friends, and have it go and sell 17M copies.

Distillers are a great Los Angeles punk band.
I think System of a Down is from Los Angeles.

As things stand, the South, with Los Angeles specifically, rocks.

South wins by a landslide.

Memphis just by itself kills everybody else.

LA comes out with some good stuff in the rock, rock-rap category but alot of times it's missing the soul roots of the rest of the South.

Detroit had a thing going for a while but that was back in the 1960s. And New York is hit or miss on the hip hop scene.

I'm saddened you're supporting Southern music MtG, I would have figured you for someone who likes hard rock or maybe even metal. You come across someone who likes their music to have "balls"!!!

Metal? Jesus, there are no people as fundamentally sexless in the world of music as metal fans. They've all got funny beards and spend their days discussing Linux distros. Why do you think there's so many of them on these boards?

Naw, if you want music to stir the loins you need to find something with more kinetic content than metal or its sister style, elevator music. Both are rhythmless, grooveless and highly unpleasant when played loud...

HEY!!!

If New Jersey sucks, it's only because we got stuck so close to Philly!
