I made out that he was doing us a big favour by moving it and we agreed that it would be a sign of goodwill from RP.

How about blocking their galley, and telling them about the time that they receive their save and see this that we can do a straight WM for WM trade if the lux deal would have a 2 turns notice clause.

yeah I think them seeing their galley blocked would be a good idea. I shows how seriously we take their excursion into our waters and so gives us a little more leverage as to why we don't want lux to mean NAP.

I think we should still offer the WM though the trade has been agreed.

OPD, I have thought of some things that you can say to RP the next time you meet:
Ask GoW and ND, they will tell you that we have refused to sign NAPs with them nor have we agreed to view continuing trades as inofficial NAPs, and though they have argued, and for reasons we can understand, they finally agreed. Surely you can't imply that RP deserves special treatment? What would that make your neighbours think about us? What would that make your neighbours think about you?
Would they just ignore that? No, we have discussed this thoroughly within our group and we think that any team on Bob that we sign a NAP with would be immediately alienated by the other two, which would make them more prone to declaring war.

Btw, I think that RP needs our two luxuries... otherwise BigFree wouldn't sorta-panic when OPD mentioned that the deal must be off if such are RP's conditions.

Luxury deals with ND and RP accepted and world map offers sent. I added 200 gold and a world map to our side of the GoW deal, so if all goes well, they'll add a world map to their side and the deal will be done.

I went ahead and set up the blockade. If RP turns around, all they'll see is one ship. If they keep going in spite of our diplomatic efforts, they'll find a little extra reason to turn around.
