	House of Lords motion: Renaming New Madrid to Madrid Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

This is a motion for renaming New Madrid to Madrid.

To my opinion, the name of the city New Madrid is wrong one. Here some arguments why New Madrid should be renamed to Madrid:

1. New Madrid is built on the ruins of the old city Madrid. Because it is on the same site or very near to that site, it is more appropriate to name it to the original name of the site: Madrid, instead of New Madrid.
   
2. The name of Madrid is historically bound to the site on which the city of New Madrid is build. New Madrid is, essentially a new name, although it contains the old name in it. It is better to use the historical name Madrid than the new name New Madrid.
   
3. The name New Madrid implies that this city is a colony in the New World, but it is a city on our own continent and near our own cities and not an overseas city. When we found a city in the New World (Legoland) or in The East, the name New Madrid would be very appropriate, but inside or near the borders of Spain, it is not.
   
4. The name New Madrid is not Spanish. Madrid is Spanish, but New is not.

Nay, I say. Nay. We should keep our history in perspective. Allow the city name to remain the same.

Agreed with this proposal, Madrid is the proper name for the town my ancestors once lead.

We don't have to Role Play this perfectly. New Madrid is fine, but so is Madrid. As long as we win, I don't care what the heck we call it!

Roleplay? What is this thing that you speak of? I do not understand!

As it is, I would agree. Being an amateur historian myself, I find that Madrid should remain Madrid. The fires that burned it away should not be seen as the conquering fires that swept away our heritage, for the ancient and eternal city should rise again like a phoenix from the ashes!

Let Madrid be made and kept Madrid.

Many of my fellow San Agustinians spent time in or lived in Madrid, both before and after the Great Fire, and they generally agree that it is the same city, so I support this proposal.

There seems to be universal agreement on this issue, however, The House of Lords needs to do the following first:

1) Elect a Lord Chamberlain.
2) The Lord Chamberlain manages the House of Lords, determines the period of voting has closed, determines that this Motion has passed.
3) The Lord Chamberlain posts in the Decisions of the House of Lords thread and/or the turnthread to have the city renamed.

Therefore, please .... please pick a Lord Chamberlain to lead the House. No other business can commense until the House has leadership.
