Heres an example.......
Susan Serandine: Lunatic celebrity who is... well you all know her political views, I dont need to list them.
After he she made a complete ass of herself, several organizations which were going to give her awards or recognize her for various things decided not to..... what did she and her cronies scream? CENCORSHIP!!
"Just because I have different views then you dosent mean mine arent just as valuable! It is my right to be honored by your private organizations, even though I act like trash! Just because I use my celebrity status to sprout propoganda dosent mean you shouldnt honor me! Why thats cencorship and its (this is my favorite part), its..... ITS UN-AMERICAN!!!!"
So Miss Serandine, you think its American to force private people and organizations to respect your point of view? I'm sure your very knowledgable about the constituion, can you point out the part where it says private citizens dont have the peragotive to cencor people? All these morons do is show they have absolutley NO idea about what is "American" and what isnt..... forcing other people to accept your point of view dosent seem very American to me. In goverment everyone has to have their equal say....... in the private sector you can legally descriminate all you want if someone makes a fool of themself with their political views.
I dont know what pisses me off more, that morons like her scream its cencorship, or that they scream that cencorship from private organizations is un-america....... ALMOST as bad is the fact that said organizations say it ISNT cenorship to try to save face..... why do they do that? It's their RIGHT to not support psychotic lunatics lol!

hrrm. well freedom of speech is pretty ingrained into us. it is an american value, a big one I would hope. so I imagine any censorship is going to get flack. why not? they can not give her award, she can scream.

The problem is that an organization that promotes itsel as being open to all the public is considered to be a public organization, even if it is privately owned. The organization then acquires the obligations of a public concern which includes the requirement that it be fair and not discriminate. If the award that Ms. Sarandon was nominated for had nothing to do with the statements that Ms. Sarandon made then if the organization removes her niomination then it makes the appearence that the award is not necessarily for the purpose for which it is stated.
