This is not suprirsing. Parisians aren't popular in the other regions of France. They have the reputation of being arrogant, know-it-all, and to feel "like in conquered territory" when in other parts of France (i.e ignorant and not willing to learn about the local uses). This is largely a prejucide, but there is truth in it.

Yeah, I gotta agree with the anti-Parisiens. Those people were really about as warm and welcoming as a bad case of syphilis.

Sorry to any Paris fans, the art and architecture was nice, but the atmosphere was 'le poo'.

Not snarkey at all. You know, I've often wondered the same thing, JohnT. The truth is, I don't know. I have absolutely no idea. I mean, most of the time, I don't know who or where I am either.

I couldn't bother to read this entire thread (I'll do it eventually) but I notice that people are getting so close to each other here that they are even sharing personal details about their lives. Where is that glorious anonymity that marked the first days of this forum? Where is that "hey, you don't need to know anything about me except that I like civ games" spirit? I feel so lonely when I'm the last of the anonymous apolytoners...
