No in-game contact yet, but we should get that next turn.

What should we do? Since they're so close we can either:
a. Build up quietly for an early war, or
b. Make friends with them and work towards a long-term partnership.

I'd tend to favour option B right now, but a lot can happen in the next few turns. How we both choose to rolepay this will play a big factor of course.

Am I right in saying that our main focus is expansion to other continents where we can plant our flags? In that case an early war in our homeland might not fit with our style.

DAMN! They're quite close, and it looks like they too have a beautiful river location for their capitol.

I'd really like to, um, remove them, and if this were SP (or even the first Demogame), I'd say kill 'em. But this is the kinder, gentler Demogame, and we are England after all (terrible early rush civ).

Damn, damn, damn! All that juicy land... and now we have to share!

Oh, and I reserve the right to call for a warrior-> swordsman upgrade to go kill them later.

They're France? So they start with alphabet, like us, and masonry, which we already got from a hut. Damn again! No good trade possibilities there.

I agree with Big Crunch, FP, scout around them a bit. I suggest moving the scout 4, 1 next turn. Let's come 'round to the west.
