	You Gotta Love it when US Basic Cable Show an Uncensored Movie! Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Comedy Central has been showing 'South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut' (brilliant movie, btw) totally uncensored (after 10 o'clock, though). That means the f-word, s-word, breasts and all sorts of stuff that no other basic cable station would dare to do (even though they are legally allowed to).

I know the other stations bleep out the curse words for 'respectability' and ratings... but don't you think more people would watch a movie on TNN if it was totally uncensored? I personally think so.

Some show soft core porn here late at night, but not those stations with a good reputation. Maybe you can get hardcore via pay tv here, don´t know.

Sexual content of normal movies or F-words are never censored here, but they cut out extreme violence on some movies, esp. when they plan to show them in the early evening (eg. one station had "Gladiator" sunday at 8 pm this spring, but a friend told they cut some of the fighting scenes).

Often tv stations here also display a "warning" ("this movie contents blah blah and is not recommended for people under age xy"). Sure the kids will love such hints....

Showcase is awesome, they play stuff like Trailer Park Boys, Oz, Curb Your Enthusiasm, to Queer as Folk and little-known gay movies.

In Germany you can get lots of additional channels (incl. scifi) only via pay tv (no commercial break ups there) - nothing for me

However, I can get ca. 40 public and private tv stations.

That's the main reason why most US basic cable stations don't show nudity or cursing or even excessive violence (believe it or not , they cut it out). They want to be 'respectable'. I think Comedy Central knows that isn't going to happen . I hope they switch to ALL their programing being uncensored after 10 or 11.

Of course premium channels (like HBO, Showtine, Cinemax, Encore) can show what they wish.

In Quebec there's a broadcast station (TQS?) that shows Bleu Nuit (soft-core porn) on Fridays at 11 or so.

Yeah, same thing in Ontario. I remember after my prom, we got in just in time to watch Blue Nights. We laughed out loud and then got drunk. Good times.

Here in the UK, Channel 5 is our free to view porn network.

this reminds me of something that happend at uni last year. 3 of us are sitting in my mate liam's room, it's friday night, we've just come back from the pub, we flick on the TV and the usual crappy porno with shanon tweed is on channel 5, it's nearly finished but we decide to watch the last 15 minutes or so.

so we're just sitting, talking a bit, watching the film a bit (which is really crap), and the guy is saying something to shanon like 'well why don't you get yourself a [....]ing...' (can't remeber). we all just look at each other

Dammit, NONE of my channels have anything remotely pornographic. I oughta call up the cable company about that. "I want my porn!"

Hell, I don't even know if we get porn on pay channels. (Not that I would know; why would I pay for it when I get it on the internet for free? )

I think I should check this out more though.

yeah, i was in junior high and we were learning about WWII. Our teachers all told us to go home and watch it, expecting it to be edited for tv. I watched it with my mother and brother... we loved the movie, thought it was an exceptional true story. However, the next day at school a lot of the teachers got in trouble because some parents thought some of the material and content was "unacceptable" for their children... and *****ed and moaned to the school administration

I remember watching Jerry Springer once. One of the guests was a redneck racist who wanted to ship the "farming tools" back to Africa now that they weren't needed any longer. Everything that guy said was just long series of bleebs. N-words, F-words and all kind of 4-letter words were bleeped. I mean, what's the point of showing thrash TV if you censor all the trash out?
