Terrains in Conquests ? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

I was looking over the newest preview and noticed that in one of the screenshots a new terrain seemed visible Maybe it is just my eyes (and wishful thinking) but in the screenshot below the terrain in the bottom right looks different. It looks like a little bit like swamp or something. Any other opinions?

"Three-Man Chariot" in Tarsos?

As for swamp, I'd like to know, how they make it different from jungle. In Civ2, they are exactly the same.

The volcano looks cool.

I've no idea whether it's inclusion will be a benefit to the game, but it looks pretty. I wonder if it's animated...

Guesses on other natural disasters? Flood and Earthquake have gotta be in there I would imagine.

I wonder if the flood plains actually get flooded in Conquests. What effect might this have?

Flood plains actually flooding would be very cool. Flood and Earthquake must be in. Some others could be meteor, drought, plauge ?

they will probably add more terrain types, but I don't think that we'll see lots of natural disasters except for volcano. I hope I'm wrong.

Hi!

After a closer look, I have just realized that, what we think is a new swamp terrain, is not seen with what we know is a jungle terrain.

It's possible that the jungle terrain has just been redesigned.

Vaya con Dios!

Is there something different about the tile directly southwest of the eastern-most mountain tile? It looks a little odd.

Any thoughts on the properties (Food output, etc.) of Swamp terrain, assuming that's what were seeing?

I hope it takes like 96 turns to transform into a Grassland, or something ridiculous like that. People complain about Jungle, but personally I think it's too easy to get rid of.

The swamp (assuming that's what that is) is probably a very bad terrain, it will probably be a pain to clear.

If they have added new terrain, and a new worker action perhaps we will get these abilities in the editor?

Maybe pollution caused by the volcano which erupted in a near tile...

There is Jungle in the above screenshot. Northwest of Hattusas, at the end of the river. I think swamps are a whole new terrain overlay.

I think swamps are a terrain overlay like forests, which give maluses to the terrain it covers, like -1 food and -1 shield, or something like that. Having wamps as an overlay is a sound idea, as it would be able to spoil grasslands as well as tundras or plains.
