	Have you noticed popular people never gun down their classmates? Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

3 kids arrested this week for when they broke into a car, supposedly they were planning to "pull a columbine".

I remember when Columbine happened, I kept my opinion to myself, as I doubted many people shared it.......

I am SURE a degree of mental instability is involved in people who do these kinda things, but I dont think thats all of it, or even the determining factor.



When I was young I had a speech impediment and supposedly a case of ADD(wonder why in other threads I think medicating children is wrong in 99% of the cases? now you know)....

Needless to say I was mercilesly taunted and tortured throughout all of my younger school years, till my last year of middle school I kept entirley to myself because I was so sick of other people harrasing me. I dont think I had a real friend till I was 14(note at end*). I was always big(and still am) so I was never physically harmed, but I was insulted every day. I'm sure some other apolytonies experienced that...... being told your worthless 5 days a week for years upon years can do quite a bit to piss a person off.

I dont think alot of people realize how bad school tauntings can be, they are constant and unrelenting. I was lucky because I was big, if I wasent im sure there would of been a good deal of violence mixed in also. I cant think of anything worse then the taunting I experiened when I was younger, it truly seemed the ENTIRE world was against me.

I dont try to justify what school shooters have done, but I can ENTIRLEY see where they are coming from, and honestly, I personally feel MUCH more sympathy for them, then their victims, as I have been there.



Anyone else have any thoughts on the subject?














*When I was 13 I got a call from the office.... my mom told me over the phone my grandmother had died. I went to a bathroom stall and started to cry....... 2 of the "more popular"(clich leaders) kids in my school walked in and hear me, taunted me...... I snapped. Its worth noting I had taken martial arts since I was 8, I was always "big" but I also knew(and know still) how to fight quite well. I was always very patient... never attacked anyone before. I got sick of it and beat the living crap out of both of them. I suddenly had instant respect from most of the school and was no longer harrased.... beating up those jackasses was proboably the turning point of my life lol.

Indeed....I was a horribly unpopular guy in highschool, with no redeeming qualities (academic sucess doesn't count), and I've thus failed to kill all those little ***** that made my life hell back then (they all bet I would, though).

I wasn't in any cliques or anything. I had friends in all cliques and few enemies. The first week of my Freshman year in HS, I kicked the crap out of some junior who made fun of my name. I didn't have any more problems... although I was suspended 3 more times throughout high school for fighting. . I have a short temper and a big mouth. And I never lost a fight either.

I was lucky to go to a high school were there was no popular clique or outcats: no one cared about anything but their academic performances and resume padding.

I went to a school that was mostly white (caucasoid) in a mostly white town, in a mostly white city.

Being not even remotely white, I didn't have that many friends.

The few I had generally got creeped out by me pretty quickly, so I've not had too many friends for significantly long periods of time.

I always thought of myself as that girl Lydia on Beetlejuice: unique, but misunderstood.

But life ain't a movie, and a rose by another name like "sh*t" would DEFINITELY cease to smell as sweet as soon as you delivered your first dozen cow pies to your potential sweetie.

Try that sometime - I can guarantee that it will get a reaction, if nothing else.

I currently attend a private high school and things are similar. Sure there are popular and non-popular kids but nothing is really made out of it. Also I don't think anyone in my high school would be immature enough to taunt people.

The school shootings are awful and are probably a combination of both medical problems and harrasment. Are the victims of these shootings only the popular kids?

When did you go to school? Today beating anyone up would probably get you expelled. I heard a story a while back about a kid who was in second grade and the school was thinking about expelling him because he called a hit or call or something in a Four Square game "gay", however inappropraite, I think schools go overboard today. How were you disciplined?

Yes I was. Out of a class of 700 no one could give a damn who was in the footbal team, the homecoming events were a joke, as were our cheerleaders, and the proms were populated only by those people who craved the "normal" high school experience.

I think another thing ios at work: in most of the high schools were these sorts of this are about to happens, the kids in your high school represent the entirety of your age group that you are likely to ever meet at that age: at al social events even outside of school your reputation there follows you. But in big cities, speically in schoiols that recruit from all over them, it is very likely you have a social circle utterly separated from the HS scene, and thus can seek solace there.

Almost the same exact situation here except all the teachers liked me and refused to believe that I would start any kind of fight.

Just want to note my highschool was pretty good........ no real jerks there heh.

It was 5 or 6 years ago, a suburban high school in NY. I wasent disciplined. I dont know what the 2 kids said to anyone, everyone in the school knew I beat them up, but apparently they never specifically complained to a teacher. One of them was battered a bit but nothing major, the other I believe had to get some stiches on his chin though.

At least my classmates achieved something. They turned me into a berzerker. When I get in a fight I lose control. I don't stop at first blood, I don't stop if one of us falls down. I keep fighting until the other person runs off.

I ask a lot of questions in class (in fact I challenge the teacher a lot ) and it kinda pisses kids off at me. Combined with the fact that I'm a little (a lot) strange , and I get teased a lot (though a lot less now than in previous years). I've coped with it by saying to myself (accurately ) that since I'm immensely more intelligent than them, the fact that they don't recognize my enormous intellectual superiority means their opinions about me are worthless . However, oftentimes I'd love to hit them. The problem isn't that I'm too small or weak (I'm actually pretty strong and athletic), but that I don't really want to hurt anyone ( :wuss: )
