I'll be flying into SD next wednesday, both to go to Comic Con and to be with my fiancee. There's also going to be a large meetup of people I know from the board we met on.

About 12 years ago I went to the San Diego ComicCon but I never went back. Some of those people were really freaky.

It really was a freak show. I still remember the guy who had grown his hair down to his butt who apparently never washed it though judging my the incredable amount of dandriff he had and how he was constinently scratching his head. He had a D&D t-shirt on, thick glasses, bad skin, he spoke in a very shrill voice, and he had the unfortunate habit of spitting when he spoke.

I was only 15 but I knew then I didn't want to be considered one of them.

If you show me a comic, I'll probably say ahh cool and maybe read it.
I know comics, and characters and storylines, etc.

But I won't spend money or go out of my way to buy one, much less go to a convention.
