I wanted to compare similar actions in order to see what the numbers are in terms of troop numbers of opposition groups and troop numbers of regular army but I can't get a good Viet nam thread.

That is a good question. Another good question is would Arab's be commiting suicide attacks in New York even if we didn't knock out Saddam? I seem to remember something about two planes...

Bush has made so big errors the largest of which is he, unlike his father, doesn't know how to build coalitions. You're supposed to get all your ducks in a row ahead of time and then you all go in together that way when the poop hits the fan the costs can be spread out amoung the whole group. Bush & Blair could have made a convincing case but it would have taken months so they took the easier way out and now they're sweating it.

Not one of them was an Iraqi. Three quarters of them, however, were from an allied state, Saudi Arabia. It was funded by Saudis, planned by Saudis, and led by Saudis. I believe a few Pakistanis were involved also. Pakistan's another one of those allies of ours.

My question was more along the lines of, this is gonna end up looking like Palestine (as opposed to Vietnam). The Vietnam reference was actually a tip o' the hat to Zykla, as DinoDoc caught.

I may be missing something, but nowhere have I seen Sprayber say that. He made a commitment when he enrolled in the US military, and now he is honouring it.

As much as I was/am opposed to the invasion and occupation of Iraq, I do respect Sprayber for living up to the commitment and obligations he took on when he joined up. There's far too little of that sort of integrity in today's society.
