to make it easy for the groups to interact I would recommend a set world like planescape, ravenloft, greyhawk, forgotten realms, or others (I have a number)

I am familiar with the following campaign settings:

Greyhawk
Forgotten Realms
Arcanis (published by a 3rd party d20 company)

I have the sourcebooks for the following, though am not as familiar with them:

Ravenloft
Oriental Adventures

Of these, I feel Forgotten Realms has the most material available out there and is probably the best known setting. Planescape might not be good for low levels, but I have no familiarity with it whatsoever.

Greyhawk, I could run, but expect to be from the Gran March if I do (not familiar with all of Greyhawk) and besides it's the one region I've played most in.

Arcanis, while interesting is not a common setting, and I don't really expect anyone else to have heard of it. It also comes with various overpowered things that are bad. d8 damage dealing light weapons, medium armor that doesn't slow you down type stuff. Stuff that was included just because the guy who made up the setting likes min-maxing a bit too much.
