Oh my fellow brethren of Spain. That it has come to this. 'Twere I but here to vote against this insane war, and even more insane proposal to ally with GoW.
There are dark dark times ahead for Spain, but it may not yet be too late to stop the clock. I beg the Court supply me with the reasons for such deeper distrust of ND than they have ever deserved, and for the reasons why GoW was considered worthy of any consideration greater than extermination like the plague on rationality they have shown themselves to be time and again.
I left long long ago, but I see now that perhaps I could have made a difference. Perhaps I could have shown RP the bias in their thinking - ND was never an enemy back then, yet word on the street, even amongst nobles, was that they would receive a visit from Spain's troops in due time. At least I could have striven to understand why ND was so feared and yet the scum GoW were tolerated. For my lapse I am deeply sorry, and I may have cause to weep for Spain.
Lord Toledo, I have an answer to your riddle - the wisest are they who realise the truth behind all conflict - that men's hearts are clouded with prejudice and blinded by deceit, and in their minds their knowledge is twisted by rumour, and those who do so in time to prevent terrible mistakes from being made.
I must know if fair Spain can be salvaged, and if it is even worth petitioning the King to again grant me the mantle of Ambassador.
