Well we did play two games that were small map games and thus hard for me too take seriously and were over and done with for what ever reason in 10 mins. Certainly nothing to brag about.
I challenge you to a game for league as we have compatable points.
However, I suggest that starting positions dont decide the winner.
Thus, I suggest we get a third party to build a random board (medium) with 5 billion, wet and your temperate and place the two civs (english for me and romans for you) in compatable locations.
This means, equal number of huts near first settler. Equal number of special resources. Broken terrign for movement. Spread out enough to prevent an early over run. Each side with enough land to colonize and find huts on. And equal rivers. With just some small editing this will produce a very fair board.

Ah, it's always so amusing to watch the lesser players argue amongst themselves. Especially when it's WG and A-Team trying to assert who is the better. I can only laugh. I don't know which one I hate more.

What kind of game is this? you might as well play on a premade map. What fun is a game if there is no underdog position, no difference in start location, no difference in specials or huts? True, you want to play a game that is fair, but at all cost? i know this didnt work for CFL for sure.
Play the darn game and have fun! JUST HAVE FUN! stop complaining, play and let history decide where you end up.
my 2 cents

W0ke, = does not mean that it is not different. In our past, our computers have set up riddiculas games which almost always have been decided by starting position. The board would not be revealed to me or weird god. What fun is it to win a game only to find out later that everything you have done was pointless because the computer gave you the game before you started. There is no sense of accomplishment there and you wasted time. What fun is it if the computer set you up for failure before you started. I call that frustrating and pointless.
In 1 of those games the other day, I was stuck on the very bottom of the world behind 4 rungs of hills and forests. By the time i climbed out, he had found 4 horseman and 2 citys from huts and me 1 archer and no other huts in sight. Is this a victory to brag about? Is there any sense of bettering your opposition? Of course not.
And we have had so many starts like this that it is pointless to try to get our computers to set up a fair board. Maybe we can get cavebear to do it. He always likes to talk about his fair maps.
