I played a league duel against A-team this morning, and it was by far the worst and the most inexplicably frustrating experience since I joined Gameleague.
I had 7 cities in 3150 BC. He accused me of cheating. I told him I never have cheated in anything in my life, not in Civ, not in anything. I told him to go check the saves. He said he did, and found "proof" that I was cheating. I was so baffled at this point. I couldn't believe it! I told him exactly what I found in huts as I remembered. I saw a hut in my city screen when I first started the game. It was in a forest, right next to my settler. So I went to it and got a horseman. Then the settler moved to make a road. The horseman moved and found a hut and it was advanced tribe. Not a location I wanted for my capital, but still it was an advanced city so I was happy. Then the settler that I started with found a city. In the next few turns, I got incredibly lucky with huts. I found two nomads and an archer. So I built 4 cities quickly. So on and so forth until 3150 BC. It was an incredible start. Then A-team retired. When he came back online he told me my story was bull****. He kept saying you can't get so many units out of 3 huts, but I kept telling him I opened more than 3 huts and to go check the saves. He said he did, and what he said was even MORE baffling. He said he found "evidence" of me cheating! And I said, "What??" The point is, how can one find evidence of someone cheating if that person didn't cheat in the first place? He accused me of re-opening the huts. I said no way. I said go check the very first save of the start of the game and look at the huts around my settler then you will see. He then kept saying bull**** and to never contact him again. He said he will send the game file to Kwang so he can catch me cheating. I said, please believe me A-team because I didn't cheat and you should send in the save so that my innocenvce can be verified. And then I kept writing to him because I was so frustrated, saying I didn't cheat I didn't cheat. But he just went offline...
I don't know what to say at this point. I *KNOW* I didn't cheat. The saves of the game will vindicate me. And as for claiming win against A-team, I won't do it. He was my mentor, a friend, and I lost both only because I had a superb start. I only played him league today because he wanted my points. I said to him No at first, but then he kept asking me and asking me. So I said okay, I told him to stay #1 after getting my points. I only played him expecting to lose and to wish to give points to my mentor because I owed him. Now everyint is f-cked up...
I didn't cheat A-team. Send saves to Kwang, he will tell you the same. I have saves too if anyone wants it.

I just want to add one more thing. I think it's very personal and dangerous to accuse someone of cheating. It's hurtful. It implies that you are dishonorable. I am not dishonorable. I have never cheated in anything in my life, because I don't believe in it. I didn't cheat in that game. How can I post the save of the game? Can anyone help me prove my innocence?

Also, I want to add one more thing. I let A-team choose all the settings and I also let him host. Because I knew I was gonna lose to him, the game was a practical suicide. I wish now that I had lost to him.

what people need to realize, i think, is that the accusation of cheating draws the accusers credibility into question as much as the person accused, particularly when the person acccused has been around as long as Robbie has.
it pissed me off that a sore loser can blindly assume that his opponent has cheated and that the opponent has to run around for two days lobbying like a politician to protect his name.
something about McCarthyism.
something about lunchtime.

Amazing how Spartan cheats yet I beat him about 6 times in a row the other night. In fact one of those games he had a start just like the one he did against A-TEam and I ended up kicking his ass. Pinball had way better starts against me than what spartan did and he did it TWICE in a row. He made me 24-2 instead of 24-0. Did you see me accusing him of cheating when he had 6 cities to my 1 by 3500BC?
I took a look at those saves. What a joke. There were 10 huts in his area very close by. Not only that his capital had 2 whales!!! 2 of those huts were definitely units. I'm guessing he probably did not get any huts that were gold. That leaves 8 huts for techs and tribes. His start isn't even all THAT great. It's a very good start yes, but I've seen way better. What a joke.

Yeh, I have definatilly gotten better starts than that. Against eyes in our first game, I probably found like 16 or so cities by 2500bc.

You just need to Cram it Sparten_Raw if that is really your name! Everybody knows that you cheated! Admit it! You can't beat the a-team babay! Unless you cheat! Which you did, BUCKO!!!

Well, I was not going to go public with this, but since you did lets delve into it. 5 turns into the game you opened 6 huts and got 2 tribes in first 3 turns, 2 units a tech and I belive 50 gold. Perfectly explainable but when you throw in the fact that 4 of your first 7 huts were settlers/citys and the fact that with only 3 units to move your turns were taking forever its really hard for me to believe that statistically this is possible since i only open 2 huts up to this point. And usually, when you open many huts and the other few, the empties will come with a higher frequency. I have seen on multiple occasions , the hut program at work where a "hack" program starts running reopening huts giving you the option to keep it or do it again till you get what you want. 4-7 is virtually statistically impossible. I tried it 20 times and failed to get 2 tribes let alone 4. And this game never made it past 3350. And when I get 5 empties and 4 techs from my first 11 huts thats just to ****ed up, another sign of hut manipulation. But again, its possible that it was just luck but you will never, ever convince me of that. If it happened like that, just further evidence of why this is a very bad game. And why nobody can win 45 of 50 games. Go ahead, if you want to win like that, report away.

A-team, why in the world would I cheat? And why in the world would I cheat against YOU!! I can't even believe that you would think I'm so dishonorable, after all the chats we had, after I stuck out my neck and stood up for you. And no I don't want the win to be reported when you think I'm a cheater. Points don't matter. Wins don't matter. HONOR does.
Points? YOu can easily earn back. Wins? Just pick on newbies. But when you lose honor, there is no way to get it back. It's more precious than points or simple win-loss records.
I believe in honesty and truth. I believe in fair play. I'm a man of principle, and I would never even think of cheating, let alone cheat against you whom I consider my mentor. You helped me become the player I am, although I still suck.
I didn't cheat, it happened exactly the way I told you. You gotta believe me.

i remember one of my first gameleague games, against weirdgod, i got 7 advanced tribes, 9 cities total, all on river with specials, he had 2 cities. it was 3400bc. he never made the accusation, BUT, he did check the saves, and saw the huts, and what they gave me. i got REALLY LUCKY that game, the next time i played him, he had 65 cities to my 21, i call that getting even...lol
