	Can't conquer islands... Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

I have reduced two civilizations to a single city, and in both cases those cities are located on an island that is exactly one square in size. I cannot figure out how to conquer these cities or otherwise destroy them so as to be able to win the game. I've tried attacking with marines, but I could not unload them from the transport. I've tried bombarding with four battleships and four jet fighters at the same time, but I guess when a city gets down to a size of one, bombardment can't wipe it out.

Any help would be appreciated...

I never did it, but you should be able to attack the cities with marines. Do not try to unload them. Wake them up and then attack the city (ie: move the marines toward the city).

Attack the city with marines right from the boat. I recomend breaking the city down a bit with bombardment like you were doing and then strike with the marines.
