Zubeydi said Palestinian security officials had asked, on behalf of Arafat, for Irsheid's release. "We respect Arafat and his orders, but this guy must be held accountable and put on trial for his crimes," he said. A Palestinian security source said militants had been angered when Palestinian security forces in Jenin were sent to arrest an Al Aqsa gunman in the refugee camp.

Also, the houses of the people that kidnapped a taxi-driver a couple of days ago were demolished.

Discuss. But first, my opinions:
1) Another case of the PA being a big lump of fat, that doesn't actually do anything. they can't hold their own against their buddies in Fatah... shameful.
2)Totally unnecessary, IMO. won't help at current stage.

Nothing like an Israeli-Palestinian cease fire is there? Perhaps the Pals are just keeping sharp by turning their crimes upon their own people. Just another example of how hard peace will really be to obtain over there

well, there WERE those house bombings a couple of weeks ago, but yes, generally, you're correct. I think Fatah is using this to build more support in the palestinian community, "keepin' it real" sort to speak. It's still the most supported "party", but it had declined. Now, when Israel's guns are to the heads of Hamas and Jihad, it gains lost ground. Sadly, the way to buy palestinians' support is this sort of stuff.

Somebody is getting really desperate... and I think it is those militants.

One good thing for both the Israelis and Palestinians is I heard Abbas (or as some call him Abu Mazen) is getting extremely popular amongst his own people. Peace will come. But these militants will have to be killed, those who do not put down their weapons.

Yes. and guess who ordered his release? Arafat. yep, that's right, Arafat can order Al-Aqsa. but I thought they were a radical splinter group.

I think everyone who isn't an Isreal hater figured out the type of criminals the PA is a long time ago. The really funny thing is that Arafat, the head of Fatah (and by extension Al Asq), yet he claims to just have no idea what they been up to.
