The romans, greeks,yanks and others

Romans I assume we are going to continue our attacks on the romans, from the information in the reports from good King Shade , they appear to have some cities to the East as well as Rome in the West.
Rome has city walls so I expect to see more and more AI cities with walls

I propose we first find the other cities and attack them with a large enough force to defeat them even with walls.

We could always use dips to bring down these walls if they prove too much of a nuisance.

Greeks I believe they will continue to attack our southern cities in typical AI fashion They have sun tzu so all the units they send will be vets.

I propose we upgade the defences of those cities under threat of attack (closest to Greeks) by building a couple of vet pikes in each of those cities and a vet crusaders to kill any units foolish enough to sit beside our cities.

Once we have finished off the romans we can then begin massing ourarmies for an attack on the Greeks but on this massive map all things will take time.

Our reputation is atrocious so I would not expect them to obey any ceasefire or peace treaty at all.

Yanks They are by far the biggest and most dangerous civ we will have to deal with. They appear to have the best land and have and will continue to drop lots of cities . Due to the large expance of land between us I don't expect any large scale attack from them in the near future nor do I expect we could attack then either

Un fortuanately it will be quite a while before we are able to put these guys in there place but I am sure the time will come.

I propose we continue to explore their lands and find as many cities as we can, if we stumble on a city far enough from their capital we may consider bribing it if the price is right. Or we could just attack it if our troops can get there , I wouldn't expect them to bother with treaties due to our reputation.

Put an end to popups!

Wow, first to vote.
--Kill All Romans.
--Defend against Greeks. Pikes. Maybe walls, too.
--Explore everywhere. Preferably with multiple Dips, for hut popping and embassies.
--Bribing -- Why not? As long as the cash isn't needed for rushbuilt defenses.

We've been through the area circled for possible Roman cities. Shouldn't they be on the other side of the known ones (south and west of Rome)?

Not necessarily, their units and out units could have missed each other, and the Roman cities could be settled where our esteemed Minister of War has indicated. The warrior outside of Antium suggests that there is another city (though maybe just one?) located here. Other then that, I do agree with you, it is likely that any further Roman cities would be either North or West of Rome.

btw, I agree completely with the plans of the Minister of War, (which may be a first for me, I can usually find something I don't agree with ) and like the fact that we are not yet actively trying to attack the Americans.

I'd thought that to...untill like 4 units poped up from that direction...it just smells fishy...I guess maybe 1 or 2 cities.(I hope)

It still doesn't make sense.. When I was exploring through there, there were no cities, but some Roman units exploring toward the East. Additionally, I drew some Roman units toward the east when poking around at their cities. I suspect what you saw were some of those exploring units being called back to their home-or-nearest cities.

The other Roman cities (unless really newly-established) must be to the west.

I know it doesn't make sence, but while I'm killing of Roman units I can just as well take a short look, if nothing is there,we will have lost nothing, if they have build cities there my unit will soon be in over his head , lets hope for the best...whatever that might be...

As usual Cavebear disagrees with me

I would love to be wrong but I am willing to stake my reputation that there are at least 2 Roman cities in the area I suggest.

I expect that the King will be able to scearch that area in the next session , if it is clear as Cavebear says then we will know , if it is not then we can take those cities for our people to live in.

Well, if you have a good reason to be so sure that the Romans were building small new cities nearby while we were busily attacking them, we certainly should find out. It wouldn't be safe to leave Roman cities behind us as we move West wiping out the other Roman cities. It *has* been a while since we initially uncovered that terrain.

If we took Rome first then wouldn't the FindCity option show us the location of their next city (new capital)? That way we could bounce their palace around and find each of their cities with a minimum of effort.

Buit of course at least SOME of their remaining cities will be in the area suspected.

But we don't want to end up playing the shell game with it.

Let's take their capital if it is convenient, but I suspect a few younger cities will be easy meat for Hydey's avengers. Every city we take reduces their resources and their ability to sustain the war.

They won't be able to build a new capital, so the plan of using the "find city" feature will not work.
