People come and go, theories change in a player's style.
After 4 month's leave of absense, I'd like to start a series of fresh polls.
All polls will be in regard to a King level game, with normal sized land, and 6 human players.
1st poll question: What is the best Wonder ?
Private message me, and winning Wonder result will be posted Wednesday.
Private message means don't post your answer here.
Comment and discuss, but votes will not be accepted here.

picking 1 wonder out of context with no referance to style of play or particular strategy is irrelavent and moot. and a compilation of player's "opinions" is no more fact than what i believe to be true...

Kaak. Are you intent on remaining ignorant ALL your life?
Certainly it's a reflection of one's style of play.
THAT'S the question.
Doh!

Slowwhand, your on the right path but you just dont know it. Why not try to start a 7 player Med map game where each side starts the game with 2 wonders of there choice in thier capital from turn 1 and cant build any more. The first player choses 1st and 14th, 2nd and 13th and so on till each side has 2 :
Probable wonders to chose:
1) statue
2) leos
3) sun tzus
4) mikes
5) great library
6) magelleons
7) great wall
8) lighthouse
9) pyramids
10)cure for cancer
11)bachs
12)marcos
13)hanging gardens
14)king richards, collosus etc..
Think about the number of different combinations you could have.
I would participate and set up a game like this. It would be interesting to be sure.

It's a damn cool idea, I'd love to participate in it. If the settings were medium map and 7 civs, I know which wonders I would pick: Sun Tzu and Statue of Liberty. I'll go fundy to start, mass produce vet. horsemen and phalanx, and start attacking nearby civs like crazy. Heheheh, anybody else in for this game?

Boy Kaak, your so wrong its not even funny.
1st, "fundy" early sucks. You cant do any research.
2nd, with 7 civs starting fairly even with wonders, warring will bring any civ that gets too powerfull down to size as theres nothingelse to do but build units and citys and not wonders.
3rd, what good is always attacking with in ept units. Leos latter in the game will blow the statue out of the water.
4th, statue should not be the 1st wonder selected. it should un questionably be the great library for all the free tech.
nice try though, it would be a good wonder for early republic and a different tech path. Then democracy. Then fundamentalism later. BUt should be selected later in the draft.

Why wouldn't u pick a later wonder???? like hoover dam or that alien thing with research centers. Pyramids and Statue would prob be best though

Hover dam only works with factories. How ever the seti program would be a fine choice. You double the science out put of all citys thus making tech basically half the cost.

this sounds like a great idea and i would love to be in this game if it is indeed set up but how would decide who gets the first round draft pick lol. Im pretty sure all 7 of the players involved would like to pick first

Hoover's is extremely good, and one of the more overlooked.
