	Game Grinds to Snail Pace Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Help!
I have a Dell C610 Latitude notebook, and when I start RON it starts, loads, & runs - all at a terribly slow rate. I checked my computer stats and my CPU usage jumps to 100% when RON is running.... everything loads but it is unplayable since it runs so slow.
(Works fine on my other comp)

Do you know how to fix this? My vid driver is 7.83...

Try closing everything else your running (kazaa, any anti-virus program, 'poly ).

Also, you might want to try to get Adaware and scan for your comp for some spyware, it can slow your computer down a good bit.

But then again, your computer might just not be good enough to run it. I dont know about that.

whats the cpu speed and how much ram do u have? and what graphics card does it come with?

I actually figured it out last night- er, not figured it out but solved it. I knew from the beginning it was a serious problem (the graphics drivers) and not a simple CPU/Ram issue. I mean when this game starts, it DIES... it runs at 1/50th the speed.

Anyway, I went and found some non-dell non-ati drivers for my Radeon Mobility card I have (16MB)... it cleared the problem up and it runs fine now... which is great because I love the game.

Also- as a side note, if any of you do graphic design, web design, programming, etc. OR if you need a designer, contractor, freelancer, etc.... go to www.theworknet.com - check it out. It's about 1 week old- but it's gonna take off soon.
