	Less then two weeks to the San Diego poly meet. Remove this text

So folks we're getting down to the crunch time. Who's all still going to the San Diego Poly meet on Aug. 1-3? I'd like to meet for dinner at Casa de Bandini in old town and then head out to the Gas Lamp for a few drinks, dancing, and general night life. Of course plenty of cameras will be on hand so we can document the meet and post pictures here on 'poly.

If someone doesn't like Mexican food then we can go to a different restaurant. Just make a suggestion here and then people can vote for their favorite place.

There's one of those near Mission Valley, just north of Interstate 8.

I'll be around town some of the time, but I have no idea what my schedule is going to be like. Hell, most likely.

D&B is fun but if I remember correctly they're beers are like $6-$8 a pop. most of the places downtown will sell you one for $4 (less if it's happy hour).

The other thing is mission valley is kind of far from all the night time action.

I'd like to get together more then just once over the weekend because I know many people will be traveling from out of town so we need to make it worth their while. I have to go to a family luncheon on Saturday and I am going golfing with some high school/college buddies (now all 27 years old; damn I'm almost as old as MtG) but other then that I'm open. If anyone wants to go golfing with us they're welcome.

The Zoo or Sea World would be fun as would just hitting up the usual tourista spots. I lived there for 20 years so I know the place well and I should be able to borrow my father's Isuzu while I'm down there (my car is in Sacramento).

So does dinner followed by D&B sound good for everyone?

It might be a bit hard to find a last minute fare. I checked expedia and found them around $400-$500.
Maybe one of the airlines has web specials on last minute get aways though.

Ixnay: The photo "I forgot were this is" is a southwest facing shot taken in the park just north of old town state park near the big hill where Fort Rosecrans used to be (the hill with the flag on it).

The really scary thing is I could id the locations of 9 out of 10 of your photographs just by looking at the background. Can you tell I've lived in that city for a couple of decades?

-Your shots of Balboa Park missed most of the really cool archetecture. You have to get out of the car (it can be a ***** to find parking) but if you walk through the pedistrian mall there is a TON of really cool buildings built for the 1915 World's Fair plus they have street proformers on the weekends, the botanical gardens, the reflecting pool, 15 museums, the IMAX, and one of my favorite restaurantes to take date's to "On the Prado".

- That "beach in La Jolla" looks suspeciously like Black's nude beach.

-One of my old Army buddies works as a prosicuter in the Hall of Justice you took a photo of. Photo shopping in the super friends would be halarious though.
