Was he anti-gun? (or pro-gun control or whatever)

Dang! Give Boris a break! A guy is upset because part of his city gov't gets gunned down. If I lived in New York I would be paranoid as hell also. What other city has had 2000 people murdered and the murders organization still around. Wouldn't you be a little gun shy? Hussein's kids killed yesterday and New York officials murdered today and the murderer still at large. No he's just paranoid...bullsh1t. I'd be in a foul mood to.

The gunman had been challenging him to the seat, but by all reports had given up on that.

Apparently, he walked in with the councilman, past the security checkpoint, but not through the metal detector, since government officials (and their guests?) don't have to go through. At least they didn't -- that's been changed, effective immediately.
