Yes you need Shockwave. It's harmless.

Gator would be a bad thing to download, though.

/edit: It didn't ask me to download Gator. That's come from somewhere else Sava, not that website. Check you system for STD's.

Actually it seems to be measured in radians/2Pi (so it is actually a revolution count)
