The strip of land to our SW continues to stretch into the distance. I bet there's another Civ or two down here somewhere.

Probably, but not certainly. IIRC, there are 7 teams on a map designed for 8 civs. So there could be a big empty space out there somewhere.

More goodie huts, yay! We need some good hut luck... we're English (so scale it down a bit, alright?).

What do you think, a city 3, 3, 3, 3 of Izz (forest) or 3, 3, 3, 3, 6 (hill, coastal)?

I'd prefer the coastal option. Our options for good coastal cities in the short term is limited. There's a solid wall of mountains along most of the eastern coast, and the juicy grassland around the river to the south is covered in Jungle. There's good terrain to the west, but it'll be a while until we expand as far as that.

Either would work, though.

Python are going to want to settle to the south of the patch of plains to our west: the terrain near their capital is all moutains and tundra.

We don't want to provoke them into military action by boxing them in, but we really don't want them building any cities south of the plains. That wouldn't be good for us at all.

Having said that, they won't be shy about attacking us if they have to. They have Sir Ralph.

Yeah, but WE have Arrian and Theseus!

I'm worried about them being boxed in. We've gotta give them a little room to expand.

I say we build the 1 city NW of Izzardia, then head West & South.
