Double Trouble PBEM anyone? Suffering from ads?

I was thinking of four players and each one having two civs.

Each player would choose their first choice, then once that was settled each would choose their second choice. Standard Civ rules and no mods, unless all four players agree to change something.

Player One would play his two civs then email to Player two who would play his two and so on. Hopefully it would move quickly with only four passes per turn.

I would be all for this.

I've gotten to the point where I don't like playing Civ3 against the computer. It's no longer that entertaining. On the other hand, human opponents Civ3 is great.

Anyway, my email is:

lmto_ops(at)ya_hoo(dot)com
Of course remove all _ ;(at) is @; (dot) is .

I'll need to think about my Civ choices.

Put an end to popups!

I'd like to join. Two civs sounds like a fun idea and with only four players it shouldn't be too slow.
My e-mail address is suro2003 at kornet dot net.
As for my first civ . . . .the Ottomans please.
Will there be culturally linked starting positions? This will affect the choice of my second civ I vote we don't use culturally linked starts.

I choose Persia.

Let's make civ placement completely random. If your teams end up together...so be it.

I don't particularly want to play as I have taken on about as many PBEM's as I can handle but if you want someone not in the game to check the map and start positions to give a reasonably balanced start then I would be willing to do so.

What size map? If we play on a Large of Huge there should be good start positions regardless. We could also change each pair's culture groups to match and then have the map use culture linked starting positions.

With 8 civilisations I'd to play on a large map. I think it would be more interesting to play two civs far apart than to have them culturally linked.

I really can't resist a good PBEM idea. I'd like to take the 4th seat in this game please.

Large map sounds good. It might be more interesting to start with your civs close together so that complementary civs would be important. Say, an industrious civ to improve terrain for both and a militaristic civ to spearhead attacks.

That would mean the game developing quickly. If they are randomly located then exploration will be a bigger element.

First civ choice - Carthage.

Yes, I've been gone for the weekend.

I guess I'll go with China. Both are industrious, so I'll start off behind in techs. But the Rider/Immortal combination looks good...not that I plan be a warmongerer
