City Site #2 ? Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Fellow Apes,

We need to decide on our 2nd city site.
Our road will not be ready, so a decision needs to be made on turn 3050bc (We just played 3150bc)

Also note, that I have zoomed in on the area of the above map with the circle. By using clear map (Ctrl-Shft-M), taking a snapshot, and zooming in on the pixals, it looks like this is not an isthmus. I see blue pixles between the fog & the tip of the land.

So we do not have to worry about sneaky invadors, or blocking the the choke point.

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Site #1 was suggested by Konquest
This is a bonus tile, and I dislike settling on bonus tiles.
It has the benefit of being a coastal city however, and is the usual site for a 2nd city.

Site #2 is my recommendation.
Not normally the best site, but it can share more tiles with Primate central.
And has bonus tiles around it to use.

Site #3 is also available
It's cramping our capital a little, but a nice spot for a military camp, and then just a future fishing village.
It does not have any bonus tiles.

Any comments ??

Maybe we can settle one tile 7 of choice #2? This would give us an access to sea as well as many bonus tiles. However, our building pattern would be much looser, but we can always backfill. I hate when a city has a lot of water tiles in it's radius but can't build a harbor or any costal improvements. Those tiles almost semm kind of worthless...

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

7 of Choice #2 would work for me.

I dont think we need to worry about invadors from the north..(assuming we dont have a ismith)..so we can afford being a little loose.

Do some tight builds on the mountains to the east, and we have tundra below us.

Giving our capital a little more room in the north may be a good idea

Increase Your PM Length

7 of tile 2 is too far IMO.

I like my cities cramped up so be aware of that when hearing my opinions.

(2 or 3 looks good for me)

We can certainly cramp them up with our other cities.

The mountains on our right, and we have tundra below us.

But we have an industrious worker who can handle the increased distance, and 7 of 2 makes best use of our bonus tiles.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Hello fellow simians - I'm back.

*Beta runs around handing out berries from the mountains.*

7 of 2, or how about 5 of 2. I am Ok with the more dispersed pattern. And the worker can road the enhanced tile next turn.

I gather we build north next.

Maybe what we need is a 3 or 4 city plan based on the land we know. That might influence our #2 site.

The reason I say this is that it would be nice to have a city on the point of land we might want an isthmus, in which case - do we want to go 7 of 2 now. 5 of 2 might apportion the land better. Just some random thoughts - and I have only see the new expanded map for 5 minutes now.
