Remember ol' Captain? I don't remember the show that well, since I only saw few episodes, but I remember that it was kinda crappily animated and one othe kids had the power of the heart (huh?). Oh, and the villains polluted for the sake of pollution.
Also, there was the Bamboo Bears, though I'm not sure whether they showed it in the States. Basically, it was pretty similar to Captain Planet, except the main characters were some kind of animals (one of them was a big fat panda, and then there were two smaller animals), they travelled around with a magical dragon, and the villains were a bunch of rats. But the basic scheme was same, the villains polluted (usually to the detriment of the local animals) and the heroes thwarted their schemes. It was pretty self-repeating, but I saw all the episodes. (Hey, I was a kid - what can you do?)
Were there other junior brainwashing attempts anyone can remember in the 90s?

You know what I don't get? IIRC, the whole schpeel was, "earth, wind, fire, water, etc"... well... wind is just a reaction of pressure systems. It's air molecules moving. It's not like a secret power. And fire... well fire helps burn the coal and stuff. Fire is bad. But yet they use it to create captain planet. And water? Water is just H2O... wtf is so special about it? And earth... Pollution is caused from burning coal and other fossil fuels... everything CAME from the Earth, so yet its good... I just find the use of the "elements" to be very stupid.
BTW, the whole "environment" concept is rather silly. People treat it like some universal battle between good and evil. In the grand scheme of things, pollution isn't universally bad or good. It's just different chemicals making up the atmosphere. It's bad for humans and other living things, but they make pollution out to be something universally evil. It's not.... it's just bad for us.
I'm probably not making much sense... oh well.
