Preparing for Republic and GA Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

Prior to our GA, we can support size 5 and 6 cities with a 10% lux slider. Temples are not required for Poly and Mingapulco.

Bananatopia can go to 7 or 8 pop with a temple and 10% slider. We will have the the temples in Hispanica and BFC to get the hills into use, and a bit more culture.

Here is how the land can be used.

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Incensity can be grown by worker add. Likewise, BFC and Hispanica once they get to size 4 or 5 (1 or 2 workers).

After one more round of workers with the 4 'new' cities we will have 18 workers and the jungle will begin to come down rapidly. With the addition of the CDG cities, a few more workers will be desirable to keep clearing rates up.

Increase Your PM Length

6 turns from now we can get Inc to 8 SPT, Apo to 10 SPT and Ming to 8 SPT (assuming a 1-turn change to Republic). Nana would only be at 5 SPT though, and we'll have to use 10% luxuries.

Tired of ads?

It has been expressed that there might not be room for all of the cities to get to size 6. They are basically to indicate that we do have room for all of them, and for Nana to get larger.

Do we have any confirmation on what cities will be working what tiles for what SPT?

Since the invasion is probably ~15 turns away being able to plan what units we can have ready by what dates would be fairly important info.

We need to see the turn after anarchy, so that we know what the actual corruption numbers are.

Tripoli will most likely switch to a CH, but maybe corruption comes down. Bottom line is we can't sim it.

Just a few bits of info on Republic when we switch in 2 turns. Most of this should be accurate, though a couple things may be different depending on what tiles we work, or possible extra corruption.

GNP 123
MFG 49
Productivity 171

Current:

GNP 71
MFG 0 (anarchy)

Inc, Ming, Apo at 8 SPT, Bananatopia at 6 SPT, Tripoli at 5 SPT (working iron, no CH, 3 SPT wasted).

33 GPT (will vary when cities grow and new units are built)

Wow ! Based on Turn 101, which is just before we go into Arachy,

GNP 123 (Trip's Estimate) vs Turn 101 = 66, +86% improvement
MFG 49 vs Turn 101 = 36. +36% improvement
Productivity 171 vs Turn 101 = 104, +64% improvement.

I will definitely switch to Republic earlier in my own Civ games.

That increase is somewhat misleading though.

The actual GNP itself is irrelevant. What matters is how much GPT you can generate at 100% tax. As it stands now, we'll probably be making a bit less cash per turn under Republic than Despotism, despite a huge GNP jump. This is due to our huge army.

MFG increases only because we'll be working some hills, otherwise it'd be identical to despotism.

So it takes a close look at what you have to gain to decide whether it's better or not. The real reason we need Republic is to get the most out of our GA and to be able to use those hills at their potential for big production.

Trip, I am very impressed. You are almost spot on. The actuals are :
GNP 123
MFG 50
Productivity 167.

We are now 1st in GNP, 2nd in productivity but still 3rd in MFG. Someone can probably do some analysis on how far the others are ahead.

So what are the thoughts on switching some tiles to irrigation?

I imagine it's not something we'll want to do at the moment due to the need for shields for the war, and the massive amount of jungle clearing and other projects that our workers are needed for. Nonetheless it seems worth bringing up.

Due to the unhappiness factors not many tiles will be irrigated, as once some of our cities reach the max size they can stand they will stay at that point to crank out units for a time, then improvements. Workers will come from mostly smaller cities like Lux, which could benefit from an irrigated square or two to enable faster worker turnarond, but this needs to be balanced with their shields as well. No point having a hopelessly corrupt worker farm that gets to 3 pop before building a worker, is there?

Corruption/Waste in Republic Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Some of these figures are just min-max ranges, because I can't get a good fix on the actual until ther is more pop in those cities. Cities listed in Order of Rank:

City - Min - Max - Figure I'm going to use for now
Apolyton - 4% to 4% - 4%
Incensity - 9% to 9% - 9%
Mingapulco (same Rank as BFC) - 10% to 12% - 11%
BigFurryCity(same rank as Ming) - 10% to 12% - 11%
Bananatopia - 12% to 12% - 12%
Hispanica - 22% to 22% - 22%
LuxInidica - 25% to 27% - 26%
Tripoli(same Rank as HoD & Karina) - 32% to 34 - 32%
Heart of Darkness(currently not connected - same rank as Tripoli & Karina) - 36% to 37% - 37%
Karina (same Rank as Tripoli & HoD) - 32% to 35% - 32%
Big Bend - 30% to 41% - 38%
Possumopolis - 45% to 49% - 47%
Cuido de Alcohol - 50% to 54% - 52%
Equilibrium(currently not connected) - 70% to 89% - 79%

[EDIT] changed Karina and fixed the rankings of it. [/edit]

Value of Marketplaces vs Libraries Increase the size of your Attachments

After our GA is over, we will want to have the maximum amount of research that we can afford. To this, we will need extra cashflow to support the increase in the research rate.

The MoI beleaves that to have the best effect and to use our GA to the best possible amount, that we will build Marketplaces in our core cities. This will, of course occur after we are certain of victory over GCA.

Although, it is true that we can get better reseach with the addition of libraries, if you can't support the additional cost of them and your reseach is at a low level, then the libriaires aren't being very effective. This is why we are going to work on the Markets, first. That and the additional sheild cost of the Markets, makes them the best builds to complete (or get mostly built) during our GA.

IF things go Real well with the war. we will also get a good start on some libraries, before our GA is completed.
