	Lazy Welsh, fit Finns! Inflate your Upload Space

Welsh couch potatoes are costing the health and social care services around £100m a year in extra costs inflicted by their self-indulgent lifestyle.

Only 28% of the adult population of Wales regularly takes part in sport or active recreation, making Wales one of the least physically active parts of Europe.

To combat the problem Health Minister Alan Pugh is launching a 20-year plan to lick Wales into shape, bringing it into line with countries such as Finland where 70% of the population regularly take part in active recreation.

He said: "Wales is not an active nation. Yet we have an environment and climate superbly suited to activities such as walking and cycling.

A generation ago, Finland had some of the worst rates of cardiac illnesses in the world. Today, thanks to its policy of promoting exercise and active recreation, they are among the very best.



So, is it true? Are the welsh unfit and finns all supermen (and women)?

These figures ignore the topology of Wales.

100% of Welsh people expend energy just walking up and down hills.

Shi Huangdi, which bit of Wales did you see? North Wales can be a bit grim and industrial, but mid Wales is one of my fave places.

Shi, try it not a day that isn't runny. Yes there are some.

Only thing I must point out is that Wales might be suited to walking, but for cycling it is a nightmare. Holland is suited to cycling.
