Dune, Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, & Callahan's Crosstime Saloon.

That's right, I'm not voting for my own nomination, not because it isn't good, but these intreigue me more. Especially Hard Boiled. I think it would be interestnig to the future from a non-Western point of view.

I thought they were all pretty good but the series as a whole suffered from "every other one" syndrome. Odds were excellent; evens were good.

I understood what he was saying. It was pretty deep philosophically but, unfortunately for Herbert, all the cool ideas in the world don't help the fact that the characters are impossible to care about. Leto is the only interesting character in the book and he's not even really a human anymore.

I loved all the Dune books by Frank Herbert. Unfortunately, Brian Herbert can't write worth anything and is ruining the universe. I wish he'd give up on his pretensions and follow the Chris Tolkien strategy that he dislikes so.

I'll probably not be able to participate, but I'm reading Green Mars because you bunch discussed Red Mars earlier, so I cast my votes in case I get some time and can find the book (long time since I read Dune, which is leading, I read both The Many Coloured Land and the Worthing Saga - A Princess of Mars sounds interesting and looks like I could find it in France).
