Contest #3 News Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Guess what? We're so close to having the six topics picked that you can smell it! Of course whenever you put three people as diverse as Reismark, MarkL and I on the selection committee, it takes a while to settle on six possibilities. Temba will be pleased to know that we have been listening and picked mostly topics that were suggested here. It looks like the list will PROBABLY include the following six:

1) The Raj - historical account of the British in India

2) The Low Imperialism - historical account of the Low Countries and France in Southeast Asia

3) Dracula! - either historical or fantasy, based on the Dracula legend or on the real count and his war against the Turks

4) Mystery of Easter Island - as proposed on the other thread

5) After the American War - what if the French and/or Indians had done better in the French & Indian War? Alternate history.

6) The Argonauts - return to classical times for some bronze age fantasy (it need not include the actual Argonauts, but the title sounded cool)

...this could always change at any time, but I thought it would be good to keep everyone abreast of what's happening.

Anyone who entered one of the other two contests will get to vote. At the end we'll tabulate them and pick a topic for FW and one for ToT!

Thanks for the update Blackclove.

By the looks there will be one topic for ToT and another for Civ2 Fantastic Worlds. Is this right - they will not be the same topic? Can you indicate how these will therefore be chosen?

The title for #6 was my idea

From the looks of it, we're going to have the ballots out in a couple of days... so if you entered an SDC before, watch your mailbox.

Well MJ, if you've got ToT you have a 1/3 chance of being able to do your preferred topic (versus 1/6 with simply FW/MGE). So if you don't have it, GET IT!

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Hi gang, the ballot is in the mail as of yesterday and we will know by December 2nd what topics we'll be featuring this year.

For Cam, the decision will be based mostly on which topic gets the most "yes" votes and the least "no" votes, plus a weighting based on peoples' favorites, Reismark's sun sign, and Avogadro's constant. It's all very scientific, I assure you.

Leo???

I bet your moon sign is Capricorn, but alas, an adjunct between Leo and Capricorn would make Reismark a Leprechaun!

Thanks for the update (MJ - you owe me ).

MJ, I thought you were Hungarian, Dracula was Romanian, or Wallachian, more correctly. What next? Supporting a Lech Walsea scenario contest??!?!

Vladius was related to Matthias Corvinus, who was 100% Hungarian (there were only 2 kings of Hugary that were 100% Hungarian) so Vladius had to be somewhat. Anyways, Transylvania at the time was part of Hungary.

Why do I owe you Cam?
