SDC deadline to be extended one more time

Guys:

I have received several requests for another SDC deadline extension due to ToT design issues. I am inclined to follow through on this request for the following reasons:

-- Blackclove and I did not have enough time to properly publicize the contest due to RL issues
-- I have been unable to access HAC for the past month and a half due to ISP problems at home and my shift to college. The ever-present tech guys at Gamestats are working on the situation though, and I should have access soon, upon which point HAC will receive a MASSIVE update.
-- We want more people to sign up!

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I think an extension would be in order for the following reasons:

[*] According to reports, ToT seems to have a few previously undiscovered bugs.
[*] ToT is largely unexplored as a scenario design medium. Thus, it will take designers much longer to iron out bugs.
[*] ToT is more graphically intensive then FW. As we all know, graphics take time.
[*] Personally, I would like to see the ToT and FW contests to have a slightly different time frame (a few weeks) because I want to have enough time to play all the FW scenarios and all the ToT scenarios.

I think a four week extension would be fair.

WK: WV doesn't have his own computer. As for Blackclove, I PM'd him, but he has a history for being a little slow to respond... which is understandable when you're a doctor in a psychological field

WV: I may ask you to be the judge for at least one of the platforms, because I haven't heard anything from Mark Laanen or Techumseh since February...

WK: I work at HAC. It would be unfair to compete in the tournament. It's just like the lotto.

RM: I have a computer, it just dosen't have a modem in it (very long story). I'll gladly judge the scenarios. I'd be honored and would love to do it.

I live for scenarios.

WV: Thanks. Just give me a week to make sure Mark and Techumseh are "no longer alive." BTW, that computer must be a 486 for it to not have a modem. I remember that all Pentiums were built with at least a 14.4. Unless, you had it custom-built from parts...

Ok, here's the long story.

It got fried by both an ICQ bug AND lightning at the same time, same night.

I fixed the pc and got it running again, saving the sum of about 80 scenarios i've written (thanks god repeatedly). But the modem never worked again. I even bought a new modem and even that didn't work. I've tried almost everything I know of to fix it and still I get a initialization error every time.

So, now I must get a new pc and transfer all my Civ stuff to it so that I can start FTPing all my webpages finally....
