What recent movies are worth seeing? Put an end to popups!

I'm trying to expand my home movie library so why not share with me which recent movies you liked. It can be out on video or still in theaters; it really doesn't matter.

Well I've heard great things about Pirates of the Carribean so far. I haven't seen it though.

A lot of recent movies lately have just plain sucked. Well at least all I have seen. I heard that Pirates movie isn't too bad.. I haven't seen it though. Don't see League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, as it is awful.

I like how you can find the recent and popular movies but I also like old silent movies and they seem to be very hard to find on the net. I imagine most of the teenagers on Kazaa don't know who Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keating were.

Solaris just came out on video/DVD... it was good, especially if you liked ****ed up Sci-fi movies.

I'd also add recommendations for PiratesOTC, Matrix Reloaded, and even Bad Boys II if you don't mind senseless violence and cliche buddy-guy humor.

Seabiscuit

the only thing worse than horse-racing is a movie about it starring Tobey Maguire...

Nah, some movie critics like it. IMO, it sucked horribly. All the action was in the previews. And Sam Elliot's neatly trimmed mustache really mesmerized me.

T3 surprised me a lot. I went in not expecting much but enjoyed it. Bad Boys 2 was also better than I went in expecting. Like Sava said its not oscar material but its a good fun movie.

As for DVD, I just got the extended version of "There's Something About Mary" It has some extra footage plus some special features on a second disc all for the price you might expect to pay for just one. Right now I'm waiting for Lord of the Rings and season two of the Shield to come out on DVD.

I asked this question before but no one paid any attention. But are there any plans by Paramount to release "Enterprise" out on DVD like the other Trek series or are they holding out.

One more question that maybe the Brits may be best to answer. Are there any online sites that offer Blackadder on DVD? I'm looking for trustworty sites because it seems like most are ones I have no clue about.

Pirates has been my favorite summer movie (except the Matrix of course). Hulk and T3 are both good. League is awful.
A really good movie that no one here has mentioned is Finding Nemo.

nah, not really... in hulk, there were more "dramatic" close ups of Elliott. That's what caught my attention.

T3 and 28 days later are the only recent movies I have seen. I liked them both.

T3 wasn't nearly as good as the others. But there is still enough cool stuff in the movie to make it worth seeing. Some interesting plot development stuff- though I disagree with the philosophy. I liked T2's "no fate but what you make" philosophy. But T3 well I don't want to spoil it, but they stray from that philosophy. But the film has some interesting plot developments at the end.

Finding Nemo and X2 were both fantastic movies.

Pirates of the Carribean was even better, I'd say. Depp really puts in an extremely memorable performance. Geoffrey Rush is golden. The whole film is just an hilarious, adventurous ride. I highly reccomend it.

Plus, it has Jonathan Pryce!
