thoughts on strategy for further RTS. Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

THe intillegence of strtegic attacking has not been implemented in RTS as of late. I would like to be able to send 5 tanks to rush a certain bulding at a certain interval then send in other units to attack only certain units you suggest. How about commands for a certain army to only hunt for citizens only even if another unit attacks you they would be ignored and proceed to attack citizens. Delay attacks when you click the time to perform the action and the time to withdrawl your army while you set other strats. The game would be insane with the strategy part. Circle enemy city if any units try and leave they are engaged. This would more reflect strategy and operations of war. Sometimes you get idle villagers when all other resource gathering structures are full. How about the citizen realizes what building you need at rebuild it or repair it after an attack. IF not this how about a special citizen to do these tasks a more expensive one that can only be built at a fort. He would repair as needed no action from you and build a building that was just destroyed all on his own.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

The game already has an option to have your military units attack citizens and economic buildings only.

I like the idea of setting up an attack and retreat. You could queue up the attack move, set the amount of time the army would spend in enemy territory, then queue up the retreat. The army would move foreward, attack for a certain amount of time then retreat to friendly territory. Haven't ever seen this in an RTS. On the other hand, it's not too hard to micro this as is...

You can have your units circle the enemy city with the current game orders...

Sounds like alot of what you want is already implemented in the game.

Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

What you want are more intelligent units to free you from watching them all the time. The result will be you have to pay more attention to your defense. This will be solved by more intelligent defensive units. In the end you will just watch the computer playing
