	need help with fighter planes, etc. Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

i've played civ 1 and civ 2 and last year i bought civ 3 and have been playing it quite a bit but i have yet to figure out how i can defend my cities from airplanes. it doesn't seem to matter what i do, any time an enemy aircraft attacks my city i am hopeless to do anything but just take the hits, yet when i attack them, i am often shot out of the air before i do any damage..... help?

Do you mean attacking opponent's approaching bombers by using fighters on air-superiority? That usually works for me, as long as I have a lot of fighters.
Best way to avoid problem: win the game before Flight.
