Bison Meat v Hamburgers Support Apolyton

Yup, it's a bit more expensive but it it's also better tasting AND better for you. I'm at that age where I have to worry about clogging my arteries and I'm thankful someone turned me onto Bison. My father had to get a clogged corotid artery cleaned out a few months before he died of congestive heart failure and now I've learned my mother has a clogged corotid too and she really took care of herself. Apparently, because of diets these days, more people are having to have corotid surgery, many are in their 50's - yikes, I'm 44.

I like it. It tastes like a leaner version of beef and you can buy it at most supermarkets here in California. If all else fails go to Trader Joe's.

Try it Slow, it's very good and alot better for you. I was a "die"hard hamburger eater but buffalo/bison is even better.

Put an end to popups!

I like Buffalo, and it is often as cheap as hamburger here. It's a heavier meat and takes a little more cooking than hamburger though. If you cook the hell out of your hamburgers buffalo burgers won't save you all that much fat, as most of it will be fall into the grill. But if you are like me and like your meat rare or medium rare, then it will cut the fat.

Yeah, we have to look for it here and there are bison ranches nearby. At first we got it straight from the meat counter wrapped up in paper, but the store closed down so we get it frozen now.

After cooking a bison burger, there's almost no grease. It's lower in calories and fat but tastes as good if not better, but get it ground. We tried a chunk of it and it was very tough, nothing like ground bison. Maybe we just did a bad job of preparing it.

I prefer the ground buffalo for the same reasons. I imagine that you have to treat it like a tough / cheaper cut of beef and slow cook the hell out of it, or marinate / tenderize it.
