	Cannot start freeciv server Remove this text

Hi!
I am fairly new to Linux and am trying out some of the programs that come with the RedHat8.2 version. I thought I would try running freeciv but cannot get the server to start. When I click on the menu item in menubar nothing appears to happen. WHen I try running /usr/bin/civserver-wrapper from a terminal window I get the following message:
chown: changing ownership of /tmp/xauthr3yXba: Operation not permitted. Standard in must be a tty.
I read somewhere that chown can only be run from root so I changed to the root account and tried. This time I got:
This account is currently not available.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

That sounds very fishy. Freeciv does not create or use any temporary files, and it also does not have that error message you referred to. Try opening civserver-wrapper in an editor and see what it does.

My advice is to start the civserver directly from a terminal with this command "civserver". Also try "civserver -v". If it's not 1.14.0 you might have problems playing against other people over the net. Looking at the file list for the rpm shows that this is a RedHat problem, report it to them.
The problem is this. Civserver-wrapper is either a shell-script or an executable. Either way it must start a terminal to give to the civserver. The error indicates that it is having trouble starting the terminal. Report the bug to RedHat as it is specific to them.
