Towards the end of last week, I began settling into my apartment in Charleston, Illinois.

I like it for the most part -- it's cozy.


But the inhumane condition comes from the VERY low water pressure in my shower!

How the hell am I suppose to feel clean showering with very low water pressure?

I'm going to sue the city for unreasonably low water pressure.

hah! you should have been on a navy ship such as the Enterprise. You were lucky to have water pressure half the time. And then you had to wonder if the water would actually be warm.

In any case, you could have some blockage in the pipes. Do you have hard water and have steel pipes? steel pipes eventually clog with calcium and such.

also the shower head itself might be clogged.

I was doing some work on my water system once. Well some pieces of the plastic pipe fell inside. I couldn't get them out. They ended up clogging the aerator on my kitchen faucet.

The little holes on the showerhead may be clogged.

I've dealt with extended low-pressure showers before... you get used to it, and can actually come to enjoy it. Same goes with cold showers. Man, a cold shower can feel so good sometimes!

Use LimeAway or some other product that removes scale on your showerhead, or have meantenance replace it.

Remove the head and see if they installed a water restrictor. It looks just like a washer -- in fact, that's exactly what it is. If it's there, remove it and don't say a thing to maintenance. If they discover it's missing, play dumb.

Whatever you do, don't complain about the water pressure until you check this; it'll give you denyability later.
