PTW - Error on reinstallation Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Trying to reinstall Play the World, autorun does nothing [and is enabled] and running Setup.exe seems to start [ie the installshield wizard appears but makes no progess for about 20 secs] then error message :

Error installing iKernel.exe: (0x10000)

Any help appreciated....
btw... my sys is XP and there's loads of space etc ...

hi ,

unistall as far as you can with disk

look manually for files like atari , infogrames , firaxis , ptw , civilization , gamespy , etc , .......

delete those

get updates for your OS like direct X 9 and so

reboot

install , get patch

reboot again and enjoy

make sure you turn all your soft and hard ware security off
